Who is this Guy?

Well, it’s me, Brian.

In my professional career of over twenty-years, I have been fortunate to sit on both sides of the hiring process. Reading and writing resumes, interviewing candidates, making tough decisions on who to move forward… and who to reject…

As with many of you, my career has been a major part of my identity. It has allowed me to start a family, has taken me all over the country, has introduced me to a lot of long-time friends, and moreover, has taught me a lot of lessons in what it takes to be successful.

Finding a public service career is not easy, especially in today’s tough markets. With difficult ATS systems, federal government shut downs, economic downturns, the market is absolutely saturated with people who want the same job that you do. My job here, is to use my experience to help you stand out against the rest.

I have spent most of my career working in the public sector including time in records management, customer service, regulatory and compliance, and safety. I have worked both in the office and remotely. I have had the opportunity to lead teams and select the candidates I felt would best support those teams. And guess what

Hiring is also not easy. We could post a single position, receive over 100 applications, pick ten to interview, and one to hire.That is 99 people who are ultimately going to get an e-mail or a phone call that we’ve all gotten before: “Thank you for your interest…” I have found that oftentimes, there are mere inches between the candidate who gets selected and those that don’t.
